We are an active amateur dramatic group based in and around the village of Whitwell in North Hertfordshire.
In normal times, we put on three productions a year: a spring play, the Christmas show (normally a pantomime) and the ‘One Acts’. Most of these are performed at the New Fellowship Hall on Bendish Lane, although over the years we have also put on several outside productions in the local area.
If you are here to buy tickets, please follow the link to our page on the Ticketsource website.
If you are here to find out more (or, even better, because you might want to get involved), then please look on this site, our facebook page, or in the St Paul’s Walden Parish magazine for details of forthcoming productions and auditions – or email me at whitwellplayers@gmail.com to join our mailing list.
Apart from acting, we are always on the look-out for people with (or wanting to develop) technical or promotional skills; front of house; and (especially right now) budding producers.
We also usually have regular open meetings at the Bull Pub in Whitwell – these are currently taking place on Zoom – and we like to think that we are generally extremely approachable and able to find a role of some sort for anyone who has an interest.
As well as putting on shows, we are actively involved with the community in other ways. As long as our reserves are sufficient, we look to support local causes and national charities, sometimes in the form of direct donations, but also through underwriting other people’s fundraising efforts. Please contact me again if you have an idea that might benefit from this.
Please have a look around our website – we hope you enjoy it and find what you are looking for (let us know if not).
Thank you for your interest.
