In a slight change to our scheduled calendar of events, our main production for this year will now take place in September, rather than June. More details to follow soon - including audition information.
We’ll be marking the Players’ centenary with a very special performance in 2025 and now intend to present The Ladykillers as our main summer production in 2026. The annual pantomime will go ahead as planned just before Christmas.

Veronica Williamson
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Veronica Williamson, a member of the Players for many years.
She acted, directed and helped in many ways, but, in particular, she was wonderful at sourcing costumes for our shows. They were always just right for the character she was dressing and for the period of time in which the play was set. They had to be kept in good order by the actor, if not there would be a ticking off…
She was a great character, full of stories and humour, and was very knowledgeable about Whitwell and its history. She had a wide circle of friends, all of whom will miss her so much.
There’s a place for everyone at the Whitwell Players. As well as performers and directors, we are always on the look-out for people who want to get involved backstage, whether set design and build, sound, lighting, or stage management. We also need people with promotional and organisational skills on the production side, and people front of house.
